What Spindle reads
Exactly what the Spindle app reads on your PC, and what it never touches.
What the app reads
| What | Why |
|---|---|
Your combat log (WoWCombatLog*.txt) and archived copies of it | The analysis |
| The game build and the advanced-logging setting | To tell you if logging is set up right |
| Whether the Spindle addon (and other logging addons) are installed and enabled | The same |
| The Spindle addon’s own saved data, if you choose to share character data | Your gear, vault, and keystone on your character page |
What it never does
- Read game memory, or interact with the running game in any way.
- Upload your account name or BattleTag.
- Write to your game folder, except to install the Spindle addon when you agree to, and keep it updated after that. If you remove the addon, Spindle won’t reinstall it.
Who sees your keys
Your sessions are visible to signed-in Spindle users by default. You can make a session Party (only the players in the key) or Private.
